actual entry

this makes a spiral, but i didnt think people would see it

another i liked also thought people would think it didnt fit the challenge, so i went with the most obvious

another i ruled out by the advice of a family member

its all water under the bridge but i am so frustrated with my scores, on my current entries as well. i think if i could pick a better photo then i may do better. i feel like i am starting to move backwards. i have a camera i odnt even know how to use. i should have just stayed on the porch

i think if your entry would have been a little shraper, it would have scored a lot higher. the second a photo is unintentionally blurry, the scores drop dramaticaly.
but i do like the last one of the heart. and it does imply lines in a certain way.

ps, dont give up =)

I think it might have been interesting to do the spiral one from above, so it's more obvious. Or better than a spiral would have been an @ sign, as that's become more significant to people in the age of email. (Probably would have made a good stock photo too!)

I think your original was good, but had some technical issues like being a bit soft and DOF not fully used to your advantage. In addition, its a bit busy and square (tring to make a pun--what I mean is perhaps too many tacks in the picture; why not a triangle, seen from the base), etc.
