I know that our exif data is supposed to prove our photos are valid and taken between the given dates for each challenge, but how do we prove that we followed the editing rules for the challenge? I took a by chance funky looking picture for the bizarre nature challenge, and I did edit it with PS, but I followed the Basic editing rules. I'm worried that people will think I applied an illegal filter though, so how do I prove that I didn't if questions?

Someone please appease my nerves. Thanks.

If someone should request a DQ, or you land in the top 5 =) you'd just submit the out-of-camera original, and we might ask you for the specific steps you used (usually only if we can't figure it out on our own). Even better if you put the editing steps in the details, that way everyone can benefit from seeing how you achieved it. Above all, don't sweat it; if you achieved it legally, you've got absolutely no worries.

If your photo is called into question, you will be contacted to upload your original, unedited image. When you upload the image, you will also need to list the editing steps you used to produce your submission from the original. So long as we (Site Council) can duplicate the results, you will be fine.

You also have the option, once voting begins, to request an Admin note for your submission, if you believe people will be suspicious. To do so, go to the voting page for your image and click the link provided. You will be prompted to upload your original and provide the information as listed above. In the comments area, please also be sure to note why you are requesting an admin note.

Good luck!
