Prices on 550 & 580 - DPChallenge Forums

I want to buy one or the other in the very near future (this week). Here's what I've come up with (all prices are in Cnd funds except B&H & Adorman but the Canadian is in brackets).

Anyone know where there are better prices? Legitimate dealers..besides Ebay.

Missing from the list may be adorama...550ex at $299usd...580ex same as b&h....i purchased my 580ex from them off ebay for $449usd on monday and received it yesterday! :)

Adorama's 299 price is gray market. $329 US non-gray market

I got my 580EX last week in McBain Camera (Edmonton)for 569 CND$ (with GST it is 608.83)
I think that 550 is discontinued.

Really?!!! Uh...oh.......I'm waiting to hear back on a few nice paying jobs..if they go ahead then I guess the 580 will be in budget..other than that *gulp*. I want a 550! *cries*

Artvet: I went online and McBain has the 550 posted for $569 .. but no 580.

The 550 was the same price as the 580 is now. The McBain homepage sucks, not updated. The best is to call them for more info. I am happy with the store, friendly people trying to facilitate your needs.
