Thanks for posting! I might try to get out.

Anyone have quick tips for eclipse exposure? I'm guessing that like sunsets, auto is actually pretty decent for this kind of thing...

Pouring with rain and forecast for most of the night, so I doubt I will be out there.

Be too busy ZZZ'ing it, work tomorrow.

I'm gonna try my best to get to take some photos...dang this is one of the busiest nights this week! Hopefully I can steal my friend's tripod and make it up to the roof to get some shots.

Idea for proper eclipse exposure: Slowwwwlly reattached the lens cap and then slowwwlly remove. Problem solved!

Yes I was dropped as a child.

Do the folks experienced in shooting the moon, uh... make that photographing the moon reccomend large or small aperture?

i was testing out now some moon shoots and i took f4.5 1/1000 and iso 100 the moon is really bright tonight. With these settings i got nice define photos of the moon!

I took some test shots last night, but they came out very grainy with speckles. Why is that?

maybe the iso is too high or you are using digital zoom!

was that just taken with the lens zoom? if it was how did you get it so big? and so defined?

70-200 2.8 lens at 200mm f/8. 100 percent crop iso 100

I sure hope I will be able to get some shots of the eclipse but it's awfully foggy and overcast here. Not sure if I'll even be able to see it :-(
