I think when people talk about impact they are talking about these types of photos. What a great image.

Yow! So much for my concept.

I think that you should take down these links until the challenge voting has begun (or even ended) so that people do not look at these photos and then go out to replicate them before the challenge begins.

i thought they may give some inspiration. Inspiration is bad?
10/26/2004 03:19:34 PM · #6
Hmmmmm.....it may only be bad when it has already inspired. Awwww heck, we all get inspired off of each other's ideas anyhow dont we??

Inspiration is good -- I always "study" other photographers before entering a challenge. You found some excellent sources amd it was generous of you to share them. Thank you.

I know what you mean.
One of my photo was very simular to the first now I don't think I will submit it, people may think I copied! Oh well maybe I will enter my photo using a synonym of poverty. NO harm done, my was no where as good as the one in the link. :)

Oh, come on people! Even if you were standing right next to the photographer who took the photograph, your photo would be different. Your vision, your skills, your interpretation of the subject - they would all play a part in the final image. So don't start bitchin because someone posted something for inspiration. It's all good!

This is funny. Why would you withdraw your photo because there is something similar on a website. There is something "out there" that is similar to EVERY photo that has ever been presented on this website. Only YOU know whether you took an honest shot. If you did, then post the darn picture as was seen through your eyes and your lens.

Damn...............that felt good.

My concept has absolutely nothing in common with any of these shots. I thought the posted examples were great, and was only referring to any chance of a ribbon should photos of similar quality be entered. It won't stop me from submitting. Oh, wait... I haven't actually shot anything yet. ;-P

My submission is so predictable that it is sure to get maximum brown points!!

Or will it?

Who knows? Perhaps the winds of change are blowing?

Will a butterfly flap its wings and cause a hurricane on the Moon?

I'm losing it fast, gotta go now before the medication wears off and I......

Spoke to a lawyer friend and he suggested the title: "Creatively Impoverished". He feels it gives you alot more lattitude and you may offer better chance of being true to the end result.

Apparently sarcasm does not go over well when conveying via Internet :). If you read my post itΓ’€™s not BI***IN. Look at the last sentence Γ’€œ NO harm done, my [mine-error] was no where as good as the one in the link Γ’€œ with a :) face.

I think what riotspyne done is OK. There are a lot of threads out here that show examples of current challenges. Instead of being sarcastic I should of said thank you for the photos. But hindsight is 20/20. If I offended anyone, sorry, the last time I will try to be sarcastic in the forums.
