I had a mini-photography excursion this past weekend with some friends down from Albany. I always see things differently when I'm going around with someone else. The same old shots become new. Also, they tend to point out areas you overlook. Here's three pictures I got:

I'd love some feedback.

OK then Stephanie.

No 1 is my least favourite as the greens look a bit yellow on my screen.
No 2 Brilliant composition and quality. Love the leading diagonal lines.
No 3 Simply beautiful. Lovely shot.

Well done
Bob

Thank you!

I was thinking today, that I should have entered the train tracks for the Implied lines challenge, because the horizontal slabs form lines, as do the bolts along the rail. Seeing as how my current entry is rating my lowest, I couldn't have done any worse.

Throw away.

My pleasure

Hudson Lights (or similar) would have been good.

Nice portfolio by the way.

No 1 - Nice colours although somewhat washed out where the tree meet the sky. I might have tried cropping it tighter to fill the entire shot with trees, the bridge and the stream, especially the zig zag right hand bank.

No 2 - I like the sepia tones, strong directional lines, I have a similar sort of shot myself, not taken recently though and has a lot of PS processing applied.

No 3 - Definately the best of the three not sure how or if it can be improved, you'll need somebody with more experiance then I for that one.

Am I right in thinking you've darkened around the outside of the shots to focus attention on the center?

If so its well done, very subtle.

I did in the second two, but not with the Dodge tool. I used the "Vignetting" feature for RAW images, when you open the image the editing dialog pops up and there's a feature to frame your shots with either white or black or varying degrees thereof. Third tab, don't remember what the title is.

Thanks for your comments!

Funny, I was going to say I like the first one the best. Love those fall colors, looks like it had just rained or there was some dew.

And that the railroad tracks don't do anything to float my boat.

LOL. Thanks GoldBerry. I like that one too, and while it hadn't just rained, it was quite merky out...no sun, cold...I have other shots I can post later.

The train tracks are just train tracks, but I liked the DOF and the tonality, so I figured it was worthy of posting.

Thanks again.
