Just wondering if anyone knows how companies test their batteries? I'm sure there is some set way that they do it so that they can compare from camera to camera and from battery to battery, but I just wonder what that way is. My manual says I should be able to get approximately 210 shots with the LCD on, more than twice as much with it off, and should be able to spend 3 hours in playback. The thing is, I have a tough time taking 100 shots and I was wondering if this is typical for my camera, or if I need to dig a little deeper.

If the test procedure doesn't mimic my shooting style (and, hey, how could it?) there is a good possibility that I am just being misled by the results Canon publishes. In the test, maybe they just take shot after shot after shot with no zooming, no stand-by time while the photographer frames whatever, no reviewing and deleting the bad shots.

Anybody have any insight on this?
