Was testing out a new lens and new lighting and I was wondering if these catchlights would be considered "bad" in a portrait. I ask because you can clearly see they are from an umbrella.

I would probably just blur the lines out a little bit so that it doesn't make it so obvious that it is an umbrella. I hope that makes sense.(?)

I agree, instead of normal light spots these look almost floral, not at all natural. I would blur or consider soft boxing.

| They are only bad if you don't like them. The umbrella gives an interesting if unintended effect. Maybe you could build an image around it. |
