This challenge will be tough for me living in Japan there is very little poverty here.... OH I know... I'll take a picture of myself.

*GRINS*

Actually to be honest there is a certain poverty around where i live I just ope I can present it to the voters without getting them upset.

Even people living in poverty find simple pleasures. Here's one of my favorites from Shiiizzzam.

You share my sentiments on this ....(tried to capture that thought in a poem once and would gladly share a verse or two, if anyone's interested)

I'd love to hear your poem DianaB

Wow, Brad...thanks for sharing that. That does sound tough and I'm glad you guys are in a better position now...

It's a blessing that you/we are able to turn to social assistance/welfare in those sorts of situations. A good chunk of the world doesn't even have that.

I went to Honduras during the summer and there is literally no social assistance there at all because the government relies on World Vision and other organizations to take care of that. So those in poverty who are unable to receive help from those organizations have literally nowhere to turn at all.

So, your situation in a third of the world would have led to the likely death of your children.

I agree, there are different types of poverty and we may not see what's right in front of us but at least a lot of us live in industrialized nations that can afford to help...we should never take that for granted.
