Well i must say this was a challenge i enjoyed quite a lot. I went out with labuda and bigjohnny (DPCers) on monday to take some shots at an abandonned refinery. this was going to be my entry, but i just pulled it because i have a pic that i think will score higher. i wanted to share it cuz i really like it.

Then last night i went back out with labuda to see if we can find some good city night shots. (my entry is one of them). It was quite a productive evening. we must have spend 2-3 hours outside taking pics (it had to be the coldest night of the month...). here are two shots that turned out pretty nice.

comments alway appreciated, and post your story if you want! =)

With outtakes like these, this challenge is going to be one of my favorites yet to vote on! Absolutely great shots there!!!

I'm bummed I'm not entering. I had a great idea, and the time to do it, but life interfered, and I just couldn't come up with another idea that compared to the first. Ahh well, we'll see what comes up this week...

I too think this will e a fun challenge to vote. Night photography is a favorite of mine.

Just submitted my entry to the Night Shot Challenge. It was very difficult for me to decide between a couple of different shots. I wanted to share my second choice and welcome feedback...please feel free.

you should have tried different exposures... the stars are really nice, but it seems that the exposure was set too high.

Does not meet challenge(maybe crop out the sunset) so I didn't go out to reshoot, beside it's been very cold:

That was 30 second shutter speed. Maybe should have tried a 20 second.

And a couple of my outakes that won't tip-off my actual submission:

No tripod and bumped up ISO - UGH!

Here are a few of my outtakes.

I ended up entering something entirely different, but it doesn't seem to being doing too well. Maybe one of these would have done better, but it looks like there are some great photos in this challenge.

I was going to submit variations of these but ended up not submitting anything because I was not very happy with the shots.

I wish I could have used one of these. I took these pictures a month ago in Rio. I would have loved to have flown back *just* for the challenge!!!! :-)

I can't submit any outtakes without making it apparent which shot is mine.

I'm honestly really suprised by how poorly it's doing, and I don't say that about all my submissions, I've submitted pictures that I knew were not going to do terribly well, but I really liked this one. In commenting, please include criticisms as well as praise.

I love long exposures... I just need to get out more. I've seen some awesome pictures in this latest challenge. Wish mine was one of them! (I do have a picture in the challenge, but it isn't at all like these of the city lights)

hey there,
I have been voting in the night shots challenge and must say first of i am no expert but am getting better but some shots here look like they were complete rush jobs. No thought has gone into the shots at all, just a impression of a last minute dash outside and snaping anything so long as it is night time, shame really. On the plus side there are some great shots in there.

I wish i had the time to enter myself but more importent matters were demanding on my time. Maybe the Implide Lines will tempt me if i can figure it out.

Cheers
My 2 cents ?
