I have been using PSP. After many comments on my editing being poor, I decided to try PHotoshop. I really like it alot better so far. Opinions on this first attempt would be appreciated.

Michael, why are you offended by this playful effort?
This is idle curiosity on my part as I fail to seen anything offensive about this permutation.

The thugs who attacked your son are offensive. I am an extremely hard case who believes we have the right to shoot these people dead. And I defend my right to carry an appropriate weapon.

Yes, I jest. Lots of folks around here seem to get offended by something, and I was feeling left out. I hope you're not offended, or are if you wanted to be.

Hey Mic,
Is that a Glock in his pocket? or is he just happy to have his (proud)Dad take his photo?
(I jest too)

What exactly qualifies someone to carry a concealed weapon in the US?? Apart from police or bodyguards?

Coming from my calm little island with no gun crime it really seems quite frightening that people can do this. Just my opinion and obviously it may be different if i lived somewhere else.

What would happen, for instance, if someone tried to mug you with a knife and then you shot them in the leg, would you be ok from the law if you had this kind of license? How can the police tell that you didn't just shoot someone and claim they were mugging you?

Not trying to start any kind of argument but it does interest me.

I didn't mind the hijacking of the thread. It let more people see my photo. LOL Usually the "comment wanted" Threads just dye away with no comments. Mixed in the other talk I got a couple "like the photo comments"
Back to the original thread I am really liking Photoshop CS but do I really need it? Or is there a lesser version that will do basically the same thing? Only reason I ask is CS seems a bit expensive for hobby use.

I think that some type of photo editing software is pretty much mandatory for anyone that is even semi-serious about digital photography, although, most people will not need many of the features that PS provides. I have been using older versions for several years and I still haven’t used many of the available features. I do plan to upgrade to CS soon though, because it has some features that I would like to have that my current version does not.

BTW, if you’re a student or teacher you can purchase PhotoshopCS, and many other software products, at seriously reduced cost. Several companies have discount programs for students and teachers.

Kenny,

I don't think most people know what you took a picture of. I do because I live in the Dallas area. The photo does not show that this statue is 50 or 60 feet tall. It doesn't even show that the silhouette is a statue. The flags at the bottom are a little distracting when you think you might be looking at a silhoutte of a man. It is just difficult to make out what you are looking at or what you as the photographer are trying to get across. There is very little point of reference for the normal viewer to figure out what it actually is or what size it is. Am I confusing you or do you understand what I am saying?
