Reader is free....

Canon USA announced a rebate starting friday on select lenses and flash units. The PDF is the rebate form.

You're welcome. Hopefully no one just bought a new lense before the rebate date starts. I'm just wondering if this is an early response to some of the new dSLR's coming out the gate soon.

If I understand correctly, if you buy a DR, and a couple (different) lenses you get the rebates for each one marked on the column "you purchase any three or more..."

I'll be willing to team with someone in the States (I'm in Europe) for buying a DR. Anyone for lenses? PM me, please.

$300 rebate for the 300d if you buy two lenses? wow... I was planning on the 20d, EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, and EF 50mm f/1.8 II.

Now, I'm not so sure... a 300d body with the two lenses mentioned above and possibly a EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS to get the triple rebate... coming in at around $1600...

Thoughts, if you don't mind....

A friend of mine has the 75-300 IS and I have the 75-300 non-IS. The IS is only version 1, meaning it's not as effective as newer lenses (and IS on an L-range, for instance). For the dramatic difference in price, and having used both lenses, I would go for the non-IS if it qualifies for the rebate; I don't think the IS is worth the price difference.

The rebate is only valid for purchases from authorized canon dealers.
