The first is the "Original" image and the second is the result of playing around with the filters in PS.

I decided to mess about with it because I think the focus is a little 'soft' in the original.

Is the effect ok or is it really like, "Oh somebody found the fiters option is photoshop again....."

I think it looks quite nice as a painting. I like it both ways though. Pretty cool! Wish there were more punchy colors though.

I think what you've done is tasteful enough actually. My opinion is, that rather than being an exemple of photographic excellence, it is a record of some quite impressive weather. As such, in my view, I'd rather see the unedited shot, mainly because the filtered version departs too far from photography.

Greetings,
IMHO I must say I like the original MUCH better, it has a more natural look to it, the 2nd one looks ...... painted ...almost, but I suppose it depends on what you were trying to achieve, myself I'd stay with the original.

Very tactfully put...Yep, its not an example of photography at its best, I agree and it is I suppose a record of the weather that day.

I guess I was trying to make the shot more interesting and appealing to look at, in general and I don't know if the painting effect does that.
