Hi everyone,
haven't had much time to take photos lately so I thought I'd try something different. these are two pics of fruit - the first has a slight texture added, the second is as it was taken. Am I on the right track here for abstract and/or artsy or way off? Does the red one have too much noise in it be a good photo? All thoughts positive or negative very welcome:)

Hi Bonnie. They are both great but I really love the first one. I like the two colors together and the softness of the image. The black shadow/curve is nice, too. The second one is also very nice. I don't find the grain to be too heavy. If it bothers you, maybe try running it lightly through a Neat Image. I think it looks fine though. Nice soft colors again. And yes, I would consider these to be abstract. I think you did very well. Good work!

Somebody's thinking outside the box! :) I love them both, these are great art shots. I added 'em both to my favorites. This is the kind of stuff I'd like to see more of.

| There's something about these I love, particularly the first one. However, I think they need something a bit extra... there's not quite enough to keep me engaged. |

Opinion:
# 1 has very little definition, which makes for ambiguity, both perceived and 'there', measurably. Ambiguity is the opposite of 'interest'. It only works as a subject per se.
In its context, next to # 2, 'ambiguity' (a confusion between a spatial and a flat dimension/positive negative space is what I see) is not, credibly, the subject. Other distinct elements are present, which are quite ledgible, despite the blur, i.e. colour and tone/negative line.
# 2, to me, is the stronger image. What can we do to engage BobsterLobster? -I suggest spending a few weeks looking at it and then naming it appropiately.
