Your are right bout the AI servo, i was stuck using my own 300D for the second day qualifying Malaysian MotoGP and i lost quite a few images due to overexposure. I was using Sports mode, and pics comes out sharp but over :(. And yes, AF is slow too compared to D60(at least to me). But then again, 300D in not meant for covering sporting events ;) lol

Sorry I meant metering control, not exposure control.

I also forgot the AI servo, which Wasia will probably never unlock on the Rebel.

not often you hear of someone unhappy with the rebel's image quality

better exposure control ... better than manual mode?

color and contrast ... aren't they attributes of the lens?

i'd say hold off on the purchase if that's all you're looking for

With the exception of your 50mm, you really don't have any high quality glass. If you use your 50mm for product shots and your other lenses for personal use, then maybe that's fine.

Since I got my 28-135 IS, this is what I use for my product shots. I used to use the 50mm, although it was somewhat limiting because of the lack of zoom. My studio is only so big. With the 28-135, I have gotten some excellent results, I think even better that my 50mm. Here is a 100% crop (unedited) from my latest product shot:

I do plan on upgrading some lenses, especially the Sigma 70-300 APO, but for the moment I don't use it very much so I think I'll wait a little longer.
