I just got my new copy of Adobe Photoshop CS, and I was playing with the RAW setting on my camera. This is the best fall foliage shot I think I've ever taken, and I was wondering if I could please get some feedback.

Much appreciated.

Well, here's my two cents. First of all, I like the composition. I'm a big fan of fall foliage so I love all the pictures that come out this time of year. The only thing I found troubling is that I wasn't sure what to focus on. The leaves on the two in focus trees are rather dark, so I wasn't able to fully appreciate the color and the shapes of the individual leaves. My eye then travels to the lighter background and the water. But because the background trees are mostly obscured and the surface of the water seems to be moving, I can't see much there either.

If you do these shots again, I'd be very interested to see you use a deeper depth of field so that more of the shot is in focus. Keeping the dark leaves in the foreground might be better served as a frame for the lighter background. Lastly, if you can also get the water in focus, I think that might be the icing on the cake. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Thank you all for your comments. I appreciate it. I'm still learning about my camera and adjustment on the DOF, so I'll fool around with it and see what I can come up with.

Thanks again.
