Very phallic ;-)

I'm a border-basher so for me, I can't say good things while it has that border [or any for that matter].

The geometry/perspective makes the structure an interesting shape. It seems that the highlights are overexposed, though, and a good exposure could have shown some interesting lines and textures. Maybe a 1-stop difference.

One thing that I'm guilty of, but I don't know if you were, is failing to use a tripod. If you did use one, you were right. If you didn't, then that might explain why some of the details in the lowest 10-15% of the picture are a little fuzzy. On the other hand, it might just be a result of dropping the image size to 640 pixels. (Or it may be my monitor.)

The in-picture framing keeps the eye nicely on the subject. I don't have any feeling about the border - if you did it for a reason, that's OK - my rule for me is no gratuitous borders.

it is pretty overexposed. you are losing detail on the monument. you might want to do a curve adjustment. this is just a quick one (i probably went too far the otherway) but you can see the diff.

Good tips. I did not use a tripod so that is probably why the bottom is soft.
