If you have to buy one good wide angle lense for your DSLR (D100 in my case), which lense would u prefer to buy?

I got a sigmaAF-DGEX 20-40mm f2.8 (30-60mm for nikon digital) and it produces some amazing images for the price, if money is not an issue then go with the 12-24mm nikkor Here if only i could afford it. the sigma stops down a bit further and i feel the pic quality is good enough for my level. hope this was helpfull to you

thanks a bunch, I was inclined towards 12-24mm but needed some expert opinions to support my choice. I am already feeling better :P
Going to order it now :)

Haven´t tried myself but Sigma 12-24 gets good review.
