i have the sb 600 and i think i sync them up so i can use it while its not on the camera but i tryed doing what it said in the manual but i couldn't get it to work. Can someone explain it to me simply, i'm not very good at technical stuff.

Did you set the SB600 to channel "C"? That's the part I was forgetting on my SB800 when I was trying to get it to work off camera.

you have to go to the options part. Zoom and (-) at the same time and go to the one that says OFF (or ON if ON) with the little squiggly line under it and press ZOOM again to turn it on. When it comes up you need to be sure you are on Channel 3 Group A.

thanks guy i'm making progress but still not quite flashing on its own. how do i put it on commander mode

on the D70, hit the menu button, go to the pink menu (whatever it's called) and scroll to Flash Mode (#19). Right arrow, choose "Commander Mode," right arrow again and choose TTL. |

why does my pink menu(csm)only go up to #9 when people tell me flash menu is #19?

make sure you have detailed menus activated. Can't remember where that is, will check later for you. |

You have got to get the Owners Manuals out. Read it and do what it is showing as you go. Re read it and do the same again. It really helps. All the info is in there.
