My old Canon printer is starting to run a bit ragged and it might be time to consider retiring it from photo printing...

So, I was looking for opinions concerning the Olympus P440 vs. the Epson 2200... not so much in print quality, because for my needs both would be more than enough... I'm more interested in longevity, price/print estimates, etc.

Thanks.

-Dan

Edit: And the 8x10 of the Oly is plenty big enough... I don't *need* the 13" width of the Epson...

Which Canon did you have? How long did it last? I only ask because I currently am using the i560 which is ok but I'd like to get something better but I wanted to wait till it kicked it before I did...

If you know you dont need 13" wide then why not a less expensive one? I use a 2200 that does great for me. I have no idea the actual cost per print but I believe it is more than what you could outsource it for(untill you start doing large prints anyway). Doing it yourself has advantages. Epson has printers for half the price of the 2200 that do very nice pictures.
