The Munich Oktoberfest has just finished, the biggest folks festival in the world. Sometimes said to be the biggest party in the world.
On Saturday I was there with a group and had a beer or two ;-) I also took the time to take some photos. I enjoyed taking photos of people. All of which I asked permission to photograph.
If you are interested, here are a few photos.
As always, comments are welcome.

I was in Munich 8 years ago for Oktoberfest. I got lost... wound up on a train somehow and woke up in Vienna!! I must've taken a wrong turn out of the beer tent!!! :P

My room mate and I were there in 1969. Hit all the beer tents and then rode the Ferris Wheel. No memory sticks with me quite so much as my room mate throwing up from the top of the Ferris Wheel. The weather was rainy and unpleasant at the time ... at least for those on the ground.
As an aside, a relative of mine pretty far back in the family tree invented the Ferris Wheel. His family later ran a nursery in Iowa and used to send us a Christmas Tree every year. Shipped it by train to Montana. My Dad didn't want to offend him and so didn't tell him we had trees in Montana. But I digress. |

I was in the Fischer-Vroni tent. We had reservations only until 4:30PM. It was my gf's family reunion, so her parents did not want to stay late with the rowdy crowds. I guess I missed much of the fun. But had enough of beer. I'm having withdrwals already :-D
However, we did a lot of touristy stuff: Neuschwanstein with Hohenschwangau, Nymphenburg, Andechs, Munich, Saltzburg. There always will be a next time.
Also, we are moving, so I did not have time to sort through the pics yet.

Geiga, Sounds like you had a great trip.
We had a table on Saturday from 12:00 till closing (11:00 pm). The evening crowd was great fun, but soooooo many people.
Digital Quixote: I didn't get up the ferris wheel. (Or stand under it).
Kosmikkreeper: I had a good laugh over your story. How the hell did you end up in Vienna? How did you get back then?
Edit: Typo
