| I think that "Habitat" is a bit dark and this doesn't allow to see the details of the lichens.I'm interested in knowing if you have more photos similar to "Fall at the Reservoir" because the background's reflections seem to be colorful , nice sky , trees with different green tones ... |

i got a couple comments on the 2nd version of the mossy shot, and i am curious why folks like that one better, i was trying to expose the reflection properly, and only highlight the area in foreground where the sunlight was filtering through the trees.
EDIT: i dont' like that fact the clouds are blown out. /EDIT
what i could have done would be to layer a couple images, exposed differently ( one for the reflections, and one for the foreground ) but that would not be allowed as an entry here. or i could have a used a graduated ND filter - but i don't have one that fits at the moment.

The second one definitely brings out the moss better, however blows out the top part of the reflection. A graduated ND filter would probably help since the gradation between bright and dark is pretty even across the image.
The first one, as you say you were trying to do, exposes the reflection properly but at the expense of the foreground.
