My friend needed a head shot for their radio web site
His name is Matt Case and he didn't like the photo that's displayed now. So, I shot him at the beach yesterday, the time was about 1pm so the sun was a little harsh, but I used a flash fill. I still concider portraits my weakest subject.

All comments are very welcome.

usually you don't want to have the sun directly on the side of the face cause it leaves a lot of darkness and shadows. Obviously you can't face the sun either, so having the sun to his back it the best bet. If you use the flash then it should get even lighting on the face. Post editing can give really desireable results. I'll post an example in a minute.
