I put my deposit down and am going after work to pick it up! Wish me luck getting to Fairfax from Pasadena during rush hour!!!!

Glad I could help. When I used to live and work in LA, I always shopped at Samy's, they were always very helpful.
Hope the traffic isn't too bad..... |

Glad to see the good news! Email them - it worked for me. And also, worst case, don't "accept" the shipment. Hope all goes well tonight!!!

I, too, am Jewish, but I was a bit upset that an entire operation would shut down for the holidays. I did not realize the entire company was of the same faith and therefore every employee took off work. I am not used to that where i am from... so many mixed faiths in companies that some are there working when others are on holiday. I didn't mean to jump to conclusions though...

Also, anyone have any ideas how to cancel my order with Adorama, since they are out of town? I want to do it with dignity, but not offend them. I am upset with them, but perhaps it was just a bad time for them and that's why they keep ignoring me. I should give them the benefit of the doubt. They already lost me as a customer. I just need to make it official, without recourse on my wallet. Any suggestions? |
Cancel however you want, but be sure to send them an email stating that you want to cancel the order and save the email you send them. This way if they ship it to you and charge your credit card, it will be real easy to dispute the charge.

Boy, are you in luck! I have just the solution you are looking for! I̢۪ll send you my perfectly good 10D camera body, and you can use it for your wedding shoot. All you have to do is send the 20D body back to me when it comes in. Everyone̢۪s happy, and your problem is solved. What̢۪cha think?

That's cause Ritz's warranty covers a heck of a bit more. It's less a warranty and more camera insurance. It covers everything except fire damage and loss. And that also includes cleanings.
Glad it looks like you have been able to find a camera! Good luck at the wedding.

I heard Ritz was great, but I can't do a $400 warranty right know, know what I mean! :) Thanks for the luck. I'll report in after the 20D is in my hands!!!

Arie-
So glad that you got a solid lead on a 20D and a kit for that matter. Hope you can make it in time before they close!

I know it's not the same as ordering a camera, but I just purchased some sensor cleaning supplies from Adorama on the 27th at 10:30pm and I received it in the mail today. It was very fast. Not sure why there would be such a long wait for your camera...unless they ran out and are waiting for another order...? Our local camera shop has already sold out of their 20D's.

Hi everyone, great news!!! I have my 20D thanks to Spazmo and Samy's Camera on Fairfax Ave in Los Angeles!
Also, I must apologize for getting upset with Adorama. Perhaps my rep was just not privy to the information I was asking. Still, it would have been nice of him to tell me that. Regardless, I emailed them my cancellation and I now have my 20D in hand. The battery is charging and I am very excited!!!!

Glad it worked out for you.
One thing in life I've learned is to act more important than you really are. I remember trying to join a developer's team for some freeware software. The first time I asked, I said something to the effect of:
'I would like to join the developer's team. I know a bit about coding blah blah. I think I could help out a great deal. Blah blah.'
No response.
A few months later I tried again:
'Please sign me up for the developer's team.'
Got in right away.
Just my humble opinion.
