If you like a good "thinking" puzzle game, check out this game. It's pretty addictive if you're in to that type of thing...

This game is the devil :)

Eddy, you're supposed to help us become better photographers! You're good enough you really don't need to provide your competition with this additional distraction : )

*another hour lost*

Well, I managed to do 5x5 :)

Done a 7x7. :-D

Several 7x7s and a 9x9 so far - it's easy once you get used to it, esp once you realise you can turn the powersource too...

Yes, took me quite a few moves to find that one ... I admit I bailed pretty quickly on a 7x7 just for lack of time right now, but I know where to find it now : (

D'oh! That makes it a LOT easier! :-)

Just done a 11x11.

Dang it Eddy!
Checked it out and now I can't quit!
Doing 13x11 normal border.
The wrapping border is a nightmare :)

ROFLMAO

Once I figured you could turn the power source as well (about 10 minutes into a 7x7) I got hooked. So far no one at work has caught me yet, but it's just a matter of time.

My best so far:
7x7 71458/38 turns
9x9 105351/61 turns

6 minutes and 11 seconds is my best time for a 11x13 (102 turns) so far.

Each board differs, so you have to compare your number of turns with the minimum turns. Time is also a factor, but I think reducing your turn count gives you a better score. I've almost broke 300k score wise, but haven't yet hit the minimum turns on 11x13.

That wrapping border is tricky dicky. Not enough "boundary conditions" ;-)

Ahh I was just going for speed :) My highest score on a 11x13 is 318388 thats with 111 turns (min 108), but it did take over 9 minutes.

Yeah, your results suggest that minimizing turns is greatly rewarded. (+3 is most excellent).

7x7 in 37 turns (minimum 35) -- time was 2:21.

Yeah, time doesn't seem to be too important. Can't get closer than 3 over the minimum number of turns though :-/ I'm going to call it quits with a score of 345k. I just get way too addicted to these flash games, just like this one:

7x7 69 pieces and well...
10/01/2004 09:03:58 PM · #19
OK so it's 2 in the morning, but I still couldn't quit. The 7x7's seem quite easy after playing a 11x13 grid for a while.

39 turns (min 39) - time 1.09 - Score 383478.

Minimizing turns is definitely the big factor:

Note the huge amount of time. A subsequent attempt gave me about 880k in 8 minutes (again with turns = minimum = 110). I had considerable trouble getting turns = minimum until I clued in on the lock toggle (lock symbol on left or 'L' key). That was like getting a crack pipe.

Interestingly, in wrap mode, you can actually get under the reported minimum (not surprising I suppose).

It's also possible in normal mode too :)
