With the Master Challenge up for voting, this thread will probably not command any interest. But please, do find time to comment on these new children portraits that I took at Sangklaburi, Thailand. It is a very beautiful place. Located between Thailand and Burma, most of the people here belong to the Mon minority.
All of these pics are not set-up. Lighting are all natural and poses are spontaneous. I took almost a thousand shots in two days (deleted some and what I had left are more or less 400 shots).
Here are the pics. Thanks for looking and leaving some comments.

Librodo, I love Thailand and the Thai people. You have caught some beautiful portraits. I think children portraits are great, and you seem to have mastered the art.
Congratulations. |

Hey Manny, these are great! I just want to keep gazing at them.
If you like Librodo's work, check him out over at TrekEarth. He's got a lot of very inspiring, lovely portraits of children like these. Wow!

Great work!
The third one really stands out - I left a comment as to why I think so.

Thanks a lot David. Coming from you, this is very heartwarming. You are one of my most respected and admired photographers in this site and in trekearth.
You can also see David's work in trekearth. No, we didn't talk about advertising each other. Anyone who knows David well would probably know how much he wanted to be low-key. (My apologies, David).
Anyway guys, please leave comments to my recent portrait posts. Thanks.

I love your work, and these children's portraits are amazing. Thanks for posting them. My favorite is the last one. Her eyes are awesome. I also like her little shoulder coming out of her shirt, which the composition accentuates (along with her beautiful eyes, of course). |

Manny, as usual, you have the uncanny ability to capture children's expressions that only children could have and only a few photographers could freeze. |

Your photography reminds me so much of the world famous shot of the 'Afghan Girl'. These really are stunning and heartfelt photographs. You should submit your portfolio to National Geographic.

Absolutely beautiful work, Manny. "Thanaka Look" was my favorite, too, though they are all great.

In my humble opinion, I can't think of any good reasons that these couldn't be in a world-class publication.
Beautiful and inspiring work! I would love to see more, when you get the chance...
Very nice! |

Many thanks to your comments. Children are my favorite subjects and they are at their best if you shoot them at their most candid moments. Most of these shots are candid and of course, these are not the only shots I have of them. However, the first few ones are always the best...once you spend a longer time shooting them, they become restless and uncooperative and forced.
Thanks again... |
