I just had a quick look through the entries! Wow some good stuff there, amazing! I think I know who took 3 or 4 of the shots :) I will be looking forward to voting and commenting on this one.

I don't understand why you feel you have to vote a 4; if they were all say "great", why not give them all the score they deserve. Or they were all poor, I wouldn't make the "least poor" an 8 or a 10. But we all vote differently, I know.

I agree with Kylie. Vote what it earned, and as the saying goes, 'Let God sort the dead.' Not everyone will agree on every photo, so the true winner(s) will shine through regardless if you give each and every photo a 10.

Is anyone else going through the shots trying to work out each photographer? :)

Amazing quality, It's like a gallery of winner shots.

Congratulations to the whole bunch!

Wow... I've picked up a ton of new favourites in this challenge. I'm rather glad now that I've never won any ribbons.... I would've been slaughtered! ;)

Amazing photographs...

I Think I've got 8 or 9 of them figured out.
Stunning work all around. What an awesome group of photographs!

Great work, I will take time to vote and comment extensively. Such a high quality and such a diversity, it will be hard ranking them.

It will be an agonising week for many. Even if you score well, with such an high quality there is no way of telling whether it will be a ribbon.

Of course, you can all be proud of your achievement anyway.

:-)

Seriously some great photos. Although we better NOT see any 1 votes on any of the pictures.

As long as it's not mine you'll be free from torture. :-)

I'm just trying to get into the top half of this challenge. Sitting right at 7 with 120 votes currently. I have no idea how that will stack up. I have had 12 comments though and several of them have very good ideas about how the shot could have been even better. I think that if all of the shots get this much great advice, this challenge will benefit anyone that goes through and reads the comments on all of the shots after the challenge. It seems to me that this will turn out to be a great thing for DPCers.

hehe.. I sereosly doubt it was yours;)
I also gave very few 5
Mostly 7, 8 and 9
I tried to have master standard in my voting now so not everybody would get 9 and 10 from me.. And that was hard!!!

Whew! I think I'll finish in the top 70! Despite having a whole month to enter, my only chance to take a shot was late Thursday night, so I was lucky to get anything in at all.

I was planning for a shot at ribbonhood, but the model I needed wasn't available, so I had to go with a backup concept and just shoot for fun. In retrospect, I'd have been lucky to clear the top 10 anyway. While I'm nowhere near ribbon territory, at least I didn't embarrass myself (last place in this group is still an honor), and I learned a lot in the process.

While I expected some skepticism, I am surprised at the number of commenters who think I created major elements in Photoshop. C'mon folks, everybody in this group has been around long enough to know that's not allowed (with the possible exception of Labuda ;-) ). I'm going to assume that, aside from minor tweaks, what you see is what they shot- nothing drawn in, and no major elements added or taken away. That said, there is at least one image that looks impossible. I can't wait to see how it was done.

I've done a first pass through all the images and have to say there are some amazing shots. Something to aspire to for the Oct free study. Next is to go back and comment.

Well done.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Reading this I am at a loss as to how members will question the validity of an image in the Masters...Are they saying that before Photoshop there were no special effects right on the camera?

Also: who would risk their reputation to get DQ at a masters challenge?

Folks, there is much more to taking images than snapping the shutter and many proudly refuse to learn the art of photography. Nothing in this challenge is illegal.

This is by far, some of the best photography I have seen in a very long time. Kinda' like voting on which picture is the best in your favorites.

Feet still haven't hit the ground on my own entry yet. 5 favs & 1 wish list (approved some time ago) in under 12 hours, with a one shot wonder.

Congrats to all the winners in this stunning collection, as there will be no losers IMO.

I've been having a great deal of fun looking through the pictures and trying to figure out who the photogs are. I think I have a couple figured out for sure. I know there are others who do this. I'm wondering, how often are we right, or wrong? I think it's so much fun when someone thinks your picture is someone elses' (especially if it's a photographer you admire).

So - how about a challenge where you have to take a picture in someone else's style, indicating this in the title (without identifying yourself of course).

BTW, this is a lovely bunch of pictures. I wonder if the scores are going to be way higher overall, I can hardly see how they wouldn't be.

Probably, although my Wacky Foods and Master's scores are within .078 of each other. That means top 20 on WF and bottom 20 on Master's. LOL

It will sure be interesting in a week to see what the score are like. I don't think they will be way for scores. Maybe a little higher but not much.

All I can say is WOW. I will have to score this one in several passes each photo deserves a lot of consideration time.

Amazingly done.
