I don't often get the chance to shoot people. (That dosen't sound good! :) ) So I was hoping for some comments on improving this shot.
Thanks,
Mark

Well....The pose is not flattering, and I think you need to get closer |

I actually like the pose. I don't like the white behind her head.
Otherwise, awesome portrait. |

I love this picture, typical "buxom wench" provocative type portrait, it comes across very well,
I agree about the white background but that is my only crib,
Nicely done.

It just looks more like a snap shot too me, rather than a portrait..... |

Agreed, that was my first thought, it's too bright and it makes her face look dim. The pose is quite interesting indeed. |

If that is the case, I wish my snapshots were as good :)
Technically I agree with you Sarah, a portrait should be more a head and shoulders shot, but a little licence and good pose has produced a fine shot.
In my opinion of course.

This sort of pose works sooo good for only certain body types...it's really really not flattering and neither is her expression.
If you want to re-try the pose then definetly don't have her hunching over and maybe just a serious/sexy face with tousled hair.
THat's just one gal's opinion, though.

Thank you all for the replies. I think its so bright behind her head because the sun was overhead and behind her, I overexposed by a stop to get more light on her face. Fill flash was also added in photoshop to get just a bit more...

I totally disagree with this. A portrait can be a full body shot. I guess it is a matter of oppinion.
It doesn't look like a snapshot to me. |
