I like the crop on the first one the best, it's nice. It's more of a candid than a portrait though.

I feel that the issue with this shot is the angle of attack, the idea would have been to have the lens at the same height and looking angle as the subject, giving the sense that we are all watching the scene together, and not that we're watching the watcher.
