I'm a complete rookie...just starting to get more involved in digital photography...going to take a class in the spring. I've learned so much from this site and I'm completely addicted to it! I'm using an Olympus D-490 that I've had for about three years. Looking to get a new camera with some better bells and whistles.
I'd love some input from all you wise and talented photographers here about which make/model to purchase. I'd like something fairly user-friendly, good for a beginner that won't break the bank. (maybe under $500-600?). I'd appreciate any advice! THANKS!

The sony f717 is a great camera at that price. It is very automatic, but also has the ability to be pushed harder. I really learned a lot with that camera, and they are pretty cheap now. You will enjoy it.

I think graphicfunk was selling one of his cameras. It seemed like on hell of a good deal. Might look for the thread. I believe it was last night.
