I just put my order in for a 512Mb SD card (in the UK) for £39.94 including shipping! Not only that, but these cards are high speed!!
The reviews on the website seem to support this, but I've also seen this confirmed on other forums.
Here's the link:

My days of conserving my shots are OVER, now that I will have 1.25Gb of storage, and 3 batteries!

about 2 months ago I bought the Hitachi 4GB Microdisc. I went to a (don't laugh) stargate convention in vancouver. Also why I rushed into buying my camera (Canon EOS 10D) - well, if a year staring at it is rushing. Anyway...over my 7 day vacation/convention jaunt, I got 3,000 images onto one disc. It retails at $499.99 US, but I got it for $310.00 off an internet store. So far, it hasn't let me down. Now ordinarily, I wouldn't save all my work onto a media that could easily be corrupted, but being that I'm still saving for my laptop, I didn't have any choice.
It was a wonderful investment.
If you want to see the images from my trip, go here:

Oh, important to note, that microdiscs do not work in all cameras. You need to have a FAT32 compatable camera. Also, if you don't want to buy it for that much money, the ipod uses the same card. So if you're comfortable taking one apart, all you have to do is insert it into your camera, and reformat it using the cameras formatting utility. There are plenty of sites out there that show you step by step how to do it. Just google a search on the hitachi 4gb microdisc.

Although this used to be true for Creative's Muvo2, it was never the case for the iPod Mini, and is no longer the case for the Muvo2. So don't go buying an iPod Mini or a Muvo2 hoping to get a 4GB microdrive that will work in your camera. :-) See this link for more info. |

Woops. Sorry for the misinformation. I searched it a while ago - got my mp3 players mixed up. I didn't go that rout anyway, obviously. Sorry. |

Personally, don't use these cards so don't know if they are any cheaper than EBuyer, but Aria and EBuyer are both very good companies for techie stuff, never had any problems with them!

What are the prices on the high speed SD cards?
Edit... had a look, and they don't sell any. That's why I'm so stunned with the link I posted. Make sure you buy high speed SD cards if you're buying, it makes a big difference!

I received this card on Friday, and it is LIGHTNING fast. My FZ10 has a burst mode of 4 shots a second, but I've had to wait 10-20 seconds for the buffer to get written to the card. With this new card, the buffer is written in 1-2 seconds flat! This will revolutionise the way I use my camera, I'll be using burst mode all the time. Unfortunately the card has gone up to £51 from £40, but this is still a hell of a bargain for a high speed 512Mb SD card. |

I got a 4GB Hitachi Microdrive a few months back on eBay got them for US$225, did not like using them in my Rebel because they were too slow to be written on. Now with my Mark II you can't tell the difference between a CF Card or the Microdrive. Love it, 360+ RAW images with my Mark II. |
