Hi guys just wanted to let everyone know that Tin Can Bay day out is still on for this Saturday 25th Sept. We have had a few drop out but there are still a number of us going.

Meeting at the Marina Coffee Shop from 8am as we wait for the wild dolphins to arrive for a feed. Then onto the Tin Can Bay seafood festival (Some photo opps there!) and then some scenic areas.

Anyone interested in comming along please email me on bob@denelzen.com or phone 0417 761 492.

Cheers

I don't think we will be able to make it after all. I've got a photo job on Saturday night. An 18th birthday party (yee haa!!). It only came in last night. Sorry Gurilla. Maybe next time.

Yeah, would be good to meet up with you sometime Bob, let me know if you ever head down to the big city ;)

Hope you get some attendees ... you may suffer from it being too far for most people for a day trip from Brissy :(

Hi Selina.

Unfortunatly we only had a small group there but we had lots of fun. The mother dolphin who was very regular passed away a few months ago when some thoughtless person emptied their bilge at the boatramp with lots of diesel fuel in it. They were never caught. The other dolphin is her son he is now a teenager and as teenagers do as they please so do dolphin teenagers lol. He does have a friend who comes with him but that one will not come close enough to feed.

We waited untill around 9:15am after that it is unlikely he would come in. They also feed the pelicans at 8:30 am so at least that was on show.
Here is the area where it happens.

From here we went to the seafood festival, for such a small community it was quire a large gathering with all sorts of market stalls and displays. Here is a photo of a belly dancing group.

My wife Evelynne and her sister Kathy decided to go for a helicopter ride. It was only $35.00 per person.

After looking around and sampling some of the food and drinks on offer we went to the local seafood co-op and bought some prawns and Morton Bay bugs and stuff for lunch. Bruce knew of a good location with picnic tables and close to the water.

It was really nice there and very relaxing, we finished up about 2:30pm and went our seperate way.

Its a shame that more people could not make it but maybe I'll try again in the first half of next year when both N.S.W. and Queensland share a long weekend. Could even make it an overnighter if we wanted to.

BTW Selina how was your 18th Birthday shoot?

Interesting if nothing else! It was out near Nimbin which is the "weed and hippy" captial of NSW lol. It was on a macadamia farm out in the middle of nowhere and as soon as I got out of the car the aroma of weed came wafting down the hill side. Needless to say I wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. I did the job in under an hour and was outta there. It was quite difficult to photograph because the only light source was from gas lanterns and a karoke machine in the middle of a paddock! It was an experience I guess lol.

What shutter speed were those helicopter shots taken at??

Note the "Stopped Motion" in the rotor?
