A friend of mine has asked me to take some photos of her in her wedding dress this afternoon. I have insisted that she doesn't pay me since I've never done this and have cautioned her that it might just be a waste of her time, but I figure there might be a few good shots once we're done. I'm really nervous and have been looking on the 'net for good poses, but I thought it might be a good idea to ask y'all what has worked for you!

So, please, if you've got good shots of the bride showing off her beautiful self and dress (I'm not looking for bride-and-groom wedding shots), would you mind posting them to this thread? Or any tips as to what to take and what to do would be most appreciated. The shoot is at 5pm CST. :)

Thanks in advance!

Lori

Not my shots - they're from a pose guide, but should get you started.

Don't make the same mistake I made in my December free study and shoot INTO the light. :) That's the only wedding shot I have but I'm sure others have more experience than I do.

Thanks for the advice! :) And for the record, even though that shot might not be technically correct, I think it's beautiful.

Here's my best. It's not the greatest, but I still like it.

That's beautiful, I like the placement of her hand. Thank you so much for sharing!

The quality of this one isn't near as good as the other, but I think it might be another good idea for a pose. I caught most of these shots candid. The reason I did this was because I felt that if she looked at the camera, that her expression would change (at least, that's what I think most people do). Candid shots capture peoples' natural beauty. Show us some of your results when you get them. I would love to see 'em. Good Luck!!
