Got an assignment to shoot the Champ Car World Series.
Right after I arrived at the track today, the metering on my camera went nuts. TV and AV settings are totally useless now, camera is over exposing everything by +2 stops. I'm relying on full auto or full manual... THEN... the back focusing problem has really started to take effect at the same time. I am so ready to throw this camera against a wall. Because of all my problems, it justifies more my choice to buy the Mark II.... (sigh) and tomorrow is the main event... well today I guess. (drinks more wine).
I told the Chief Photographer about the camera problems and suggested that I stay in pit lane because the problems seem less troublesome there. Here are some pics from today.
The madatory tire shot. :)
For Jacko. :)

Mental Note To Self : Do NOT edit while on the couch while downing beer after beer.
I don't know what happened to the camera in regards to the AV / TV problem but I cleared all camera settings this morning and reprogrammed the camera (at least I did have all my settings written down) and now it's OK. I must have bumped something on it yesterday. /shrug
I also learned that I need a new wide angle. My 17-40mm wasn't enough glass and my 70-200 was too much. Look like I'll be buying a 24-70mm now (along with a new camera still).

High levels of racing have always had beautiful women as part of the attraction. |

It's just Jacko, viewing it over, and over, and over, and over. :-).
Great shots, I like the tires one, not your normal racing shot.

Great shots, as always. You're creating a nice little niche for yourself. About the number of hits on the girlie pic ... that would be me. Thanks for thinking of me. Super glad to hear your cam is ok.

These are great. Jacko's not responsible for ALL the hits on the girlie pic. I think I did my share. Thanks. |
