For the love of PETE man, let it go.. the shot was validated by the SC. It's a good, legal shot.
I wonder if we could get a lock on this thread maybe?

The top five photos in each challenge must always submit proof and be validated by the SC, as was the photo in question.

He already did, as stated again and again. You win, you submit the original unaltered shot for inspection by the Site Council, the ENTIRE site council. Very little gets by them.

Terje's photo has been validated by the SC. Whether or not you can create something close to this image with software is beside the point: it was not done in this instance.

edit: man I'm slow!

anyway....he claims that a child can make this...and he shows us how a child can...making him the "child that could".... bravo kiddo.

They can also make babies in test tubes...does't change the fact that babies can also be made "au naturel".

people were being smart asses about it because they were defending the person who *you* accused of cheating. You are certainly a welcome new member of the community, but you might consider being a little more tactful next time you post. Additionally, when you see what effort it takes to win a ribbon, given the high level of talent of the participants on this site, you might be a little more respectful of the validation process as well.

I did not say he was cheating, I just brought up that he should be looked into! So [language] saying I was accusing him of cheating, you know USA justice system? not guilty until proven.... remember? I was just say by what I did with that program was kind of convincing. Plus being new here I didnt know the SC already found it real. Sorry MK

I find it ironic that folks are getting so incensed over this. Terje, you could make that image with Photoshop, a paintbrush, an airbrush or even pen and ink. Congrats on capturing it so well photographically.

There are just some members who have made the neophyte stage their career in life. They have already learned all they have to about photography. Not being even slightly aware that they have not even learned the basics, they decide to sound like authorities and spew their ignorance.

Of course, we need not pay them attention but like spoilers, they vote according to their comments and they affect the end result of challenges.

Yes, this is part of the DPC panorama and something we must all live with. I really wish they would go and learn at least the basics before enjoying their thrill of being 100% wrong in their assessments.

I just think the guy made a mistake, and he apologized...

I've done that before, and I always appreciate it when people have the grace to let it go...
