it's only for Olympus SLRs, but I'd love to have a walk around lens with that range ... 29-200mm on the 20D

I have been looking at this lens too, and an associate of mine has just received one for his Rebel. He ran some controlled but informal test shots. His tests looked generally good. There was some mild vignetting at 18mm. |

The samples he shot can be seen here:

In the first image, which says "CRW_0973 full size.jpg" he has corrected the vignetting. But he has a version labeled clearly which shows it.
These were shot without any UV or polarizer filters, just the supplied lens hood. |
