355 shots the first day, and no problems here!

The Speed is awesome!

The first of many. There were a lot of problems with 10Ds. Everyone stop your your orders !!!!!!!!!!! so I can get one faster (actually not a problem because I'm first on my camera shop's list).

Edit: too bad there aren't any threads of "all is well". Might not distort reality as much. I bought my 10D as soon as it came out and had no problems.

No faults here. It's just a great camera, I love the speed!

I like the B&W option,
Filters:
yellow, orange, red, green
Tonings:
sepia, blue, purple, green

and the Ribbon mode is just awesome:
Ribbon mode:
blue, red, yellow, green -brown not available :-(

Talking of the speed, someone posted an audio clip of the 10D and 20D here.
20D sounds amazing.

I heard that the 20D is significantly louder than the 10D. Can someone who has both check that out?

It'll prolly be a long time before I have the chance to do so myself, but I'm curious.

I have read this also in many of the reviews I have read. They say that the 20Ds sound is different and louder.

It's LOUD and clear, but that just add 10 extra badass points.

Heh, mildly jealous. Still, not enough of an upgrade for me to justify the 10D to 20D step. When I get outta school it's a 1-series camera for me I think.

Yes, I have both the 10D and 20D, and the 20D is much louder, 2 times louder I'll guess. I don't think that will bother me much, although I would have wanted it as quiet as the 10D.

If it had a slightly higher max shots per second I think I would step up... I think I'm gonna hold onto the 10d though for a while...

Unfortunately my 20D was not delivered today. Was held up Friday in PA somewhere due to the poor weather we were having here on the east coast. The good new is that it will be here tomorrow. :o) Bad new is that I will not be home until late tomorrow. To late to have any time to play with it. Hmmmm, maybe I will take off work on Wednesday...

...there is an idea. :o)

It looks like, reading other forums, that the main suspect for this is using a card that has been formatted in a different camera. Probably happening a lot with 10D upgrades at a guess.

There are certainly cases being reported where the card has been reformatted in the 20D and the problem disappeared.

Hopefully that is the case and the problem is nothing more worrying than that (as quite frankly if that is all it is I don't give a stuff).

If you are shooting weddings or similar situations where quiet is a camera virtue, it might become an issue..

Naw, not at all.

The loud camera, especially when used at otherwise silent moments at weddings, simply makes sure that anyone who didn't otherwise hear the cool noise of the 5 fps gets a chance to hear ot then :)

I'm getting 20D tomorrow !!!! Woot woot.

They received my 20D at my camera shop in Moncton and they are putting it on the bus this afternoon. I'll receive it tomorrow. Thank gawd, otherwise I would've had to make the 4 hour trek (each way) to pick it up.

Got mine yesterday and have only taken 3 pictures of the same thing sitting here at my desk. No time to play yet. I'm looking forward to it though. :o)

Question because I haven't had time to check out the cameras documentation yet. Is it possible to crop in camera with the 20D? I think I remember seeing it somewhere that you can but I'm not sure. Might have been one of the many dreams I have been having about the 20D.

Adorama hasn't sent mine yet.. They said I didn't make the 1st shipment and don't know when the 2nd will come from Canon. They tried to upgrade me to a kit, but Fred (of Adorama) told me I wouldn't need the kit lens when I first placed my order. Why would this change now? I hope they were not just trying to upsale me. So far, they have been reasonably helpful. I really wish they would tell me more about when to expect the camera though. It appears that everyone I know who has ordered one has already received one.

Are any of you not in the 1st shipment and still waiting???

It's actually all boxed up, wrapped professionally by UPS and ready to be shipped to the buyer. I am just waiting on the money order, which may never come! I can't even reach the buyer. I think they may have bailed on me. Still, I had it cleaned by Canon and if I am trying to get the max money for it, I don't want to touch it and risk damage, dust or anything...

At last resort I could, but I prefer to just mail it out as soon as I get the money!
