I was just looking for 20D priced & came across 2 references to a Black 300d/Rebel Package with kit lens & battery grip for 1000 Euro.
Here and also Here for 999 Euro
I have often seen people want a black version, thought it might be interesting. Also didn't find another post on this, though I might be wrong. |

ooooh baby! THANK you for finding this! i think that works out to about 700 quid, which isn't all that far off a bog-standard (ugly) 300d... plus the battery wossname! hmmm. you know, it's my fifth wedding anniversary next month... oh wi-ife! |

| There have been other posts and also on dpreview. The black one was only for sale in Japan (until now obviously). |

You can get a 20D imported from America for £700 + shipping, whereas if you bought it here you'd end up paying nearly double that!

Don't forget duty @ 4%. Luckily with a digital camera I believe VAT is waived. :-D

Over here in the Netherlands, if you include the duties, it evens out at exactly the same price you would pay in the stores. With local internet stores, you would be able to get it cheaper. For me, ordering from the US is only interesting for stuff that's either not sold here or very uncommon, so for the 300D or the 20D or the D70 it's not worth it. Maybe when I need to go to the US on a business trip, but that's not happening any time soon :-(. |

I think it looks quite sexy!

Translation it sais that the black version which was available in Asia will come to Europe. Available only with EF-S 18-55mm USM and the battery grip BG-E1. Cost: 1.199,- Euro*. Available in September

Prices in UK via eBay are from £550 - £650.
Some sellers have not shown the 300d badge, so could be kiss model?
Looks interesting and what Canon should have done from the start, make it black bodied! |
