Is there any way to get the Digital Rebel to show the histogram automatically after the shot? It's a bit of a pain having to press Play, then Info. Seems like it should be an option somewhere, that instead of full-frame review, I want the info-based review with histogram!

Thanks in advance.

There sure is!
Under menu go to the second tab over (the 'play' tab), then down to 'review'. Set it to 'On(Info)', and on the next line set it for how long you want it. I set mine at 4 sec.

I've heard others mention the histogram while shooting. I personally haven't used it but would like to. What is the best "spead" I should look for while shooting with it? I understand that the histogram can give insight into blown out shots, etc and I would love a bit more guidance on this topic. Anyone care to share?

Wo-hoo! Thanks. Scoured the manual and couldn't find that. I actually don't think it's in there (or it's in a weird place).

Thanks. Thanks. Thanks. Regards--Neil

I've read a few articles on this onine, and more can be found by searching for "using histogram digital".

One good one is:

Here is a couple of general purpose introductions to reading and using histograms. "Using Histograms" and "Understanding Histograms"

A histogram cheat sheet. "Cheat Sheet: Histogram Cracker"

A previous thread discussing specific types of histograms and some of their uses. "histogram enlightenment"

And, an article that puts the histogram to use for a specific purpose; maximizing the s/n ratio. "Expose (to the) Right"
