Hi All,
Went to take a picture last night and saw something on lens - would you believe a small flying bug was on the inside of my camera lens? Has this happened to you? Any advise on what to do? I don't see him now, so assuming he has ventured off to explore the other internal parts of my camera. Do I need to take the camera in to the shop to have it check and debugged? In all seriousness, I am concerned about my camera, also the fact that I really don't want to have dead bug in there! Help!

See if you can figure out where he got in--the compact flash slot, for example, and leave it open so he might come out! If he dies in there, perhaps his final resting spot won't be in the optics path--just the data path.
I had the same problem with my computer, and what I did was:

I had a tiny ant crawl into the viewfinder on my Nikon F5 while in Costa Rica. It was actually inside with the removable grid screen!

Haha, reminds me of the time when my friend was taking a macro shot if a jumping spider. The tiny thing jumped right into his lens and to this day hasn't been seen again. |
