I am looking for a application that I can use... I tested a few but after seeing my fathers canon application I am disapointed with everything I try out.

Does anyone here have knowledge about a program like the Stitch in the Canon S50 software package...

Please help :) Got some kick ass Panoramas that I wanna do ;)

I've used the Canon software and it seems to work fairly well. It even has an option where you specify the points that should line up, even if it is a little crude compared to others.

I've tried the free version of Panorama Factory and was not impressed. What the Canon software did a very nice job with this program mangled. It could be there's a lot more tweaking that is needed with Panorama Factory.

I second this, and third it!! Panorama Factory is amazing, well worth the money. Here is a link to a thirteen shot pano put together in Panorama Factory:

Wow, that's an amazing panorama!

I have been using PF for 1.5 years or so, though I haven't taken any lately, and it's fantastic! (Speaking of which, I should check to see if there's been an upgrade!)

I've actually had mostly good luck with Canon's PhotoStitch. That's what I used for this one, taken from the same place in Reykjavik:

I'm not happy with the faint vertical stripes in the sky, but I think they come from lens vignetting, not the pano-software.

BTW, for such long panoramas, what do people recommend for displaying them on their websites? Just have them pop up in a new extra-wide window? They are certainly no fun at 640x...

Other good Panorama tools include:

Hugin - The recent experimental builds of this are the most powerful of any panorama stitching GUI I've seen
//hugin.sourceforge.net/

PT Open GUI - Another Panorama tools gui

Enblend is a program that does an amazing job at removing visual artifacts after the stitching process.

Speaking of panoramas, check out this article from Photo District News.

It talks about Chris Ramirez and the "EventCam", a special array of 10 PowerShot S60's that captures a 360-degree panorama with one-click. Check out the included QuickTime VR images from the Republican National Convention... very cool! (They take a little while to load, so be patient).

More samples are on Ramirez's website.

My wife has been using the panorama stitching feature in Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10. It works a treat and we don't have to buy those ghastly over price Olympus xD Photo Cards.

If you got PS or one of those you wouldn't want to buy another Photo editor. If you don't have an editor; Digital Image Pro has added a lot of nifty things, Panorama stitching included.
