Had a customer of mine stop by tonight on his way to Jay Leno's place with his custom bus.
(Jay is having one built and wanted to see this Nat'l award-winning bus first hand).

I have worked on his restored 1960 Pontiac Bonneville convertible before, but was NOT prepared for what I saw pull in the driveway:
(light was failing and to hurry and get avail light shots. Resized only, no cropping or tweaking here)

This literally looks like a 1950's diner on wheels.
The attention to detail is absolutely unbelieveable.
He was just down at the local Cruising Grand weekly car show with it
and stopped by with it, seeing as I have heard about it for years, but
never had the chance before.

WOW!

I think I've seen that around... Do some of the side ports pop open to show little TV's all around it? I think it has Neon under it too?

The bus I saw was totally crazy, and I haven't seen it before or since.

Hi Jason,

That would be the one.
He lives in La Mesa, so I'm sure it is the one and only. TV in the side panel, lights etc..

Something isn't it?

It looks familiar to me. Not that bus with all those colors, but the front end and the headlight kind of remind of old black&white movies, like Cat on a Hot Tin Roof or something like that. Pictures look good, though. Did you get one of the captains seat? Seems to be the only shot missing.

Edit: Oops, I missed that one.

Yeah.... La Mesa.

Crazy cool bus!!! When it cruised the La Mesa show sometime last year, I think everybody and everything Stopped while it went by. It never did stop, but it just kept on going. Kinda like a weird dream :)

Great pics, thanks!!!
