I don't normally enjoy macros of flowers. The "interest" in the detail sometimes distracts the eye from the beauty of the image. However, I am quite pleased with this image of a Blue Pansy slightly backlit be the late afternoon sun.
I would welcome anyones views and comments.

I like the colours and the subject. I tend to view macros differently, though. For me, it's the details that truly amaze me and that's what is visually appealing for me. Seeing things up close in a degree of detail that I normally wouldn't be able to enjoy if I looked at it from a normal, human perspective.
But, barring that, it looks like you've created a great macro that doesn't focus so much on the details. And it sounds like that's what you were going for.
So I'd say it's a good photo, in the style you were attempting... |

Thanks for your feedback and comments. Good points well made.
I actually softened the image somewhat (possibly too much) with Neat Image as I wanted to emphasize the colour, texture and softness of the flower rather than the fine detail of it's form.
