6.1 million pixels - I'm disappointed. I have been waiting for this camera to come out and now I see that it is only 6.1 megapixel. I might just get the Dimage A2 with 8 megapixals instead. I'm going to have to study it a little more but I'm surprised at the low pixel count.

The A2 has a smaller sensor than the digital maxum and therefore will most likely generate more noise once you get above ISO 200. SLRs tend to be very clean, noisewise even at ISO 1600.
Mind you, if the purpose you need the camera for is to print large then the more pixels the better.

Thanks! That's something to ponder.

Here's the review of the A2. The photographic tests pages show the noise levels at different ISO settings.
