Hi Darren,
Your camera is the next generation to mine so I know it is capable of taking some very good shots, these are ok but my suggestion is take em at the best quality and the largest size/resolution ( exept tiff) and the results will be much better, why have all those pixels and not use em?.
I don't know about noise on your camera but I tend to avoid upping the iso to 400 or more unless I really have to.
Also, when possible use a tripod, makes for much sharper images.
Just my observations of course,
Paul.

Those are nice pictures, good composure but seem a bit flat overall and the bird seems a bit out of focus or grainy, not really sure which. But an excellent start!

Hi Darren

having a look at the Man on Bench and Bronze Thoughts....like the composition, colours, lighting appears a little flat. Were they taken in the middle of the day? Early morning/late afternoon often gives better/more interesting light to pics such as these. Good start, interesting ideas.....keep posting them :)

Good effort so far, Darren. If you've not already, try reading about the rule of thirds, it should give you some ideas for composition.

Also looking at images taken with your camera here may also provide some inspiration.

Other than that, just take it easy and enjoy learning about your camera. The honeymoon period is always the best. ;-)
