My son bought a theatrical smoke machine for a party at his apartment years ago. Actually, they are not driven by carbon dioxide. |

New thought:
Is it just me, or is this a slow-voting challenge?
I'm at about 103 votes and I've only received about 5 votes in the last 6 or 7 hours...
Maybe I'm just more antsy on this one because I've actually got a decent score going for once! |

I don't think so, I also have 104 votes, but keep in mind that there are now 3 challenges (Smoke, Mirror, flowers with a lamp behind it) going on, and ppl get maybe a bit tired of voting...
Happy for you with ytour decent score, mine is not doing so well... |

Is steam not just a certain type of smoke anyway? |
Steam is an actual gas, and so can't be a "particle suspended in a gaseous medium." |
You left out key elements of the quote. Steam is a suspension of liquid particles in a gaseous medium (that's what makes it visible) ... Surely we have better things to worry about than whether the smoke is an approved type. |
I don't care what people use in their photos ... my comment was simply for scientific accuracy. Steam is not tiny droplets of water suspended in "air" but is a true gas, with individual molecules of H20 (not the same as "particles" in this case). After it cools it will condense into the tiny droplets of water vapor.
Personally, I am in favor of encouraging a broad interpretation of the challenges, and I don't care if people use steam or spray or anything else to give the appearance of smoke. |

How about an "approved type" of smoke photographed to capture it in an attractive manner??
Damn it all to h*e*double L! I thought I had a winner this time :-(
Well, that proves it - you people just have no taste! LOL |
