Lighten up Bob, my comment had noting to do with the mistake that was made. It was a bit of old fashion Australian humor between acouple of Aussies

Don't take it personally, the comment is for everyone that is keeping the thread going.

Compared to the alleged copy then:

To me - these are miles apart in more ways than they are similar. Sure, the object is the same, but that's where it ends. And if I had to rate them, I think the "copy" is kicking the "originals" butt..

I think it's hilarious how far people are going to chastise me.

I'll say this, I never claimed to be the owner of any rock, any park, anything else. I merely said that I seen a huge resemblence between the two photos, I have since seen a bazillion more just like it, I've taken my photo off this site (but left it on my own as konador pointed out, which will stay there, as it's my site and I did do the shot). I've appologized to the author for handling my discontent in a child like mannor.

see you all frozen in time.

Yikes, being Swedish and all I had to go look that one up.. Chastise.. You live and you learn.

Not sure that my intentions was "To criticize severely; rebuke", just fired away since I spontanously figured you were wrong here. Guess you've had your share of similar opinions and my apologies if I added wound to injury. :-)

I would say magicshutter has been run through the ringer over this. As I stated several posts ago, he has apologized. He has even invited me to go shoot together, since we only live an hour or so apart. I will take him up on the offer when I have a chance to. This whole thing is no big deal. Let's not crush his enthusiasm to participate here!

No, mine was done months ago. I agree this person has every right to photograph what ever the hell he wants to, my complaint is that it's obviously very similar. Even the angle is the same. I believe my idea was taken and used as someone elses. Many may not agree but that's a personal moral judgement that everyone has to make for themselves.

I will say, I would NEVER redo a photo I seen on this site. Simply out of respect for the person who took the time to come up with it.

While this author may have taken a 'better' photo, to me it's just my photo done with a different rotation and more light.

How do you know that the other person even saw your 'original' photo?

Didn't we go through this with the leaning red phone booth pictures?

If any of you get close enough to Milton PA to duplicate any of my photos, feel free. In fact, contact me. We'll go together.

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Anyway, I agree that smellyfish acted with a lot of grace and should be commended.
