This was my entry
but i thought about entering this one instead
Any better or worse? did I make the right choice? |

I like the second one better - it is more balanced. But they are both great :-) |

If you look close you can see me and ClubJuggle down there. ;) Second one is better. It's balanced, and I think the sky really makes the shot.

Second one is a better balanced shot, unfortunately it would have taken a major hit from me for putting the focus on the sky and being difficult to see the 'location.' Travel Guide pics are about places, and if it is difficult to see the place (due to the sky being so overpowering of the landmark), it would not score as well. So I think the better choice for the challenge was the one you entered.

i kind of agree with that, but faced with the two i find myself in two minds. if you scroll enough down so much of the blue in the sky is missing, the building becomes more centred and my eyes are drawn to it by following the lines of the tops of the trees and the reflection of the tops of trees. if the building was a little brighter (i.e. a smidgeon of dodging) i think that effect might be more emphasised. but then, it would be a tragic shame to lose that sky. if faced with having to choose between the two lovely shots, i think i'd be in a mess. very tough call. |
