Hi, I'm just wondering which lens is better for portraits:
Ef 50mm f1.8 vs Ef 28mm f2.8

Does anyone had experimented with them?

Comments will be appreciated, thenk's.

I'd most definitely go the 50mm.

I use my 100mm for portraits, assuming I have enough space.

I just prefer the DOF you get with the longer lenses for any other given parameter.

I love the 50mm f/1.8. On a DSLR it is slightly telephoto (eq 80mm on the DRebel). And at f/1.8 you can get the shot in low light or you can really separate the subject from the background if you wish.

Personally, I would steer clear of a 28mm lens for portraiture... If you do use one, just be really careful not to "accidentally" accentuate some portion of the person's anatomy ... the nose, an extended hand, etc. (unless that is specifically the look you are after)

does anybody like that canon 135mm prime 2.8 with softening for portraits?

Yes, i know what you mean, i have shot portraits with a 70-300 III at 100 - 150 mm and i had good results, and as you know, its not highend lens.
