Guys, Please have a look at this image taken yesterday which appears to be out of focus.

The image was taken with my 10D and Canon 28mm 2.8 at f22 for 2 seconds. The autofocus was set on the parapet. I used a tripod and cable release.

Now to me, and other commentators the bridge appears to be out of focus, but the foreground remains sharp. Surely this can't be as I focussed on the bridge parapet.

I'd appreciate any comments about why the soft focus.

perhaps thats particular lens isnt the sharpest at f22. did you try an f11-16 shots?

Just looks like the bridge railings have moired to me.

According to the DOF calculator I've just found, with those settings you get practically infinite focus.
